Getting Sweeping Edge in Minecraft
As long as you have access to an Enchanting Table or Anvil, it’s possible to get Sweeping Edge as you would any other enchantment. You can also find the book that contains the enchantment by going out and exploring the world. Alternatively, you can always just use the enchant commands. We’ve listed all three levels of Sweeping Edge’s commands down below.
Sweeping Edge I: /enchant @sweeping 1Sweeping Edge II: /enchant @sweeping 2Sweeping Edge III: /enchant @sweeping 3
It’s worth noting that the Sweeping Edge enchantment is only available in the Java version of Minecraft. It cannot be obtained in the Windows 10 Edition, Bedrock or Education edition of the game.
What Sweeping Edge Does in Minecraft
Sweeping Edge is a sword enchantment that increases the damage you do to mobs with a sweep attack. The percentage increase depends on the level of the enchantment placed on the sword. It increases sweep attack damage as follows at the respective levels:
Level 1 – 50%Level 2 – 67%Level 3 – 75%
Is Sweeping Edge a Good Enchantment in Minecraft?
Sweeping Edge is only really a good enchantment if you find yourself standing still and fending off enemies. As sweep attacks require you to be standing still in Minecraft, if you’re moving around a lot when you’re fighting off Creepers, Skeletons, and Zombies you’re not going to get any benefit from Sweeping Edge.
How to Use Sweeping Edge
To use Sweeping Edge, all you need to do is perform a Sweep Attack. This can be done by standing still or moving at no faster than walking speed. As long as your attack recharge is above 84.8%, you’ll perform a Sweep Attack that knocks back enemies and damages them. The additional damage granted by Sweeping Edge to Sweep Attacks will automatically be applied as long as you’re using the weapon with the enchantment. Remember, it will only grant bonus damage when performing Sweep Attacks and no other kind. That’s everything you need to know to get Sweeping Edge in Minecraft, what it does, and how to use it.
